The New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association released its annual report at the recent 2019 NYTHA general membership meeting at the Fasig-Tipton Pavilion in Saratoga Springs, N.Y.
The 16-page report is an easy read that offers an overview of the good work done by NYTHA, from benevolence for the backstretch community to aftercare for the horses to advocacy for horsemen in Albany and Washington, D.C. It includes a snapshot of the organization’s financial statement, and stories of workers and horses NYTHA has helped.
“We often get questions about NYTHA—what do we do, and who is helped by the funding?” NYTHA President Joe Appelbaum said. “We introduced the annual report last year to help answer those questions, and it has been extremely well-received by our members and by our legislators. We are proud of the work we do and the many fine organizations we support, and we are pleased to be able to share this information.”
