The New York Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association will host a memorial for Rick Violette Jr. from 5-7 p.m. EST Nov. 26 at the Belmont Café at Belmont Park. Violette, the long-time President of NYTHA, died Oct. 21 after a battle with cancer.
NYTHA welcomes everyone, from the backstretch and the front-side, to attend the celebration of his life.
Donations in Violette’s memory can be made to the Backstretch Employee Service Team or the TAKE2 Second Career Thoroughbred Program, both of which benefited greatly from his leadership and support.
