Long Island, N.Y.-based LNJ Foxwoods stable has been selected the 2016 “New Owner of the Year,” OwnerView announced Oct. 27.
The stable, owned and operated by Larry, Nanci and Jamie Roth, received the award during the Thoroughbred Owner Conference recently held as part of Breeders’ Cup week in Arcadia, Calif. The award recognizes a new owner who has been not only successful but has had a positive impact on the Thoroughbred industry.
“My parents and I are truly humbled and very excited about the award,” Jaime Roth said. “We have really put so much heart and love into our stable and the horses, so to receive this award means more than you know.”
The Roths campaigned stakes winners Constellation, Dreamologist, Golden Valentine, Nickname, Stays in Vegas and With Honors in 2016. They also established the “Horses First Fund” with Thoroughbred Charities of America to benefit a group of abandoned horses in Mercer County, Ky.
Alex Solis II and Jason Litt serve as the bloodstock agents and racing managers for LNJ Foxwoods.
Nominees for the New Owner of the Year Award must have owned Thoroughbreds over the course of the past three years, have had an interest in a horse at the time it won a stakes in 2016, and have had a verifiable owner’s license in 2016.
