THA, NTRA to offer overview of federal tax law for members

The Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association and National Thoroughbred Racing Association will jointly host a legislative update for THA members to provide details on the new federal tax bill signed into law by President Trump Dec. 22, 2017.

The teleconference will be held Jan. 31 at 2 p.m. EST. The update will cover a number of areas, including aspects of the tax bill most pertinent to owners, breeders, trainers and horseplayers; code changes generally applicable to all tax payers; and the behind-the-scenes politics as the NTRA advanced industry issues while preserving or blocking others.

Speakers will include Alan Foreman, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of the THA; Alex Waldrop, President and CEO of the NTRA; Greg Means, a principal in The Alpine Group, which lobbies on behalf of the NTRA in Washington, D.C.; and Lauren Bazel, Vice President of The Alpine Group.

The THA is a founding member of the NTRA.
