Arlington will match per-start contributions to Galloping Out program

Posted: July 23, 2020

The Illinois Thoroughbred Horsemen’s Association is proud to operate Galloping Out, its racehorse re-homing program. As part of its contract with Arlington Park for 2020, Arlington will match each $5 owner contribution with its own $5 donation.

Each of these charitable contributions helps ensure the integrity of our sport by providing funding for the rescue, care, rehabilitation and retraining of Thoroughbred racehorses. The ITHA sincerely hopes that all owners make this $5-per-start donation.

Ten years ago, the ITHA launched Galloping Out so that Thoroughbred horses have a chance to enjoy productive and rewarding lives after they retire from racing. The program has since located new homes—most of them in Illinois—for more than 300 Thoroughbred.

Galloping Out is recognized and accredited as an aftercare organization by the Thoroughbred Aftercare Alliance in full compliance with the TAA’s strict code of standards.

The account of each owner will be charged $5 per start. If you do not wish for the $5 donation to be charged to your account, please notify the Horsemen’s Bookkeeper or the ITHA at info@itharacing.com or 847-577-6464.
